In 2017 the British Verification Council was formed. The founding partners established the BVC for professionals dedicated to creating a platform for raising standards in the ground gas verification sector.
The BVC have created an open letter to the National Contaminated Land Officers Group (NCLOG) showing pro-active strategies put in place to improve standards within the verification industry. The letter does also highlight bad practices that are present within our industry
Primarily the reason the BVC was put together was to create standardisation in the verification process.
To bring together like minded companies and individuals to create standard methods. The gas remediation industry then can use this association as a benchmark for verification. The BVC logo will be known throughout the gas remediation industry as the STANDARD FOR VERIFICATION

Secondly the BVC is an ideal forum to train and educate both verifiers and industry. Using the expertise within the BVC we can use in house knowledge to assist our members and again create standardisation
Thirdly The BVC is an association for professionals and is not a trade organisation, therefore is in an ideal position to influence organisations and legislation, such as:
- CIRIA
- British Standards
- Local Authorities
- NHBC and warranty providers
- Trade Organizations
